time brings nothing but trouble, by ian copestick

Time brings nothing but trouble,
it’s talons grip you from earliest youth.
Then drop you as death bursts your bubble,
to face the one, undeniable truth.

I have no clue what happens after death,
if anything happens at all.
No one is supposed to know anything yet,
it’s what we’ll find out when our bodies fall.

In one way, it’s quite exciting,
it’s the final adventure, and you can’t stall.
But it’s not too enticing,
in case there’s nothing there at all.

But I don’t believe, not in your God.
A man on a cloud judging everyone.
I want some mercy, when I’m under
the sod,
let me have another go , perhaps reincarnation.
