I am old
I said to the mountain.
And the mountain grumbled.
I am nothing
I said to the mountain.
And the mountain shook back
its long snowy hair.
I’m still here!
I shouted to the summit.
And the mountain reflected
on a blood-orange sun.
I heard an avalanche of laughter.
