someone should tell, by r.m. engelhardt

Someone should tell
Thomas
Paine
That
Liberty
Is Dead

Tell
Voltaire
Rousseau

Tell
Adams
Jefferson
&
Marilyn
Monroe

Tell Hamilton
Washington
And even say a
Hello to
Donald
Trump
Who
Doesn’t even
Know that
Hamilton
Isn’t that
Guy who
Invented
Toasters

Tell them
All that the
Revolution

Was all for nothing

And that
John Adams
& Jefferson
Who wrote up
That declaration
Proclaiming independence

Were joking

For the jets are
All waiting
At the airport for
The President

To lead them
Bravely across
The Delaware

Where glory & corporate
Scumbaggary
Awaits rich idiots
& not true men

Who shall
Most likely
Burn

With any luck

Painfully
In hell
